What we hold firmly.
Our methods can change when evidence shows a better way. These don’t. They’re why Everward exists.
Seek and tell the truth
Try to understand reality honestly. Separate evidence from assumption. Don’t deceive — and correct yourself when you’re wrong.
Respect human dignity
Don’t reduce people to their usefulness, status, politics, religion, failures, or whether they can benefit you. Every person is worth more than that.
Keep your word
Trust runs on reliability. Promises should carry weight.
Take responsibility
Freedom and responsibility belong together. Own your decisions and their consequences.
Do not exploit
Don’t manipulate, deceive, or take unfair advantage of people. Ever. Including when you could get away with it.
Seek wisdom
Knowledge matters, but knowing things isn’t enough. Keep learning how knowledge ought to be used.
Practice humility
Everyone’s knowledge is incomplete — including yours, including ours. Hold your convictions in a way that still allows correction.
Practice compassion
Other people’s suffering, vulnerability, and needs matter. Act like it.
Serve beyond yourself
A meaningful life includes responsibilities beyond personal advancement.
Leave something better
Our responsibility doesn’t end with us. It extends to the people who come after.
Above them all
Apply the standard to yourself before using it against someone else.
One discipline sits above every principle on this page — and it applies to Everward itself first.
Principles firm.
Methods humble.
These principles are the fixed point. Everything else — the ten-week curriculum, the meeting format, the method’s sequence, even the design of our gatherings — is a tool. We believe in our tools and test them seriously, but we change them when evidence and experience show something better.
Improving the method is fidelity to Everward, not betrayal of it.
